Recap: Wagner vs. St Bonaventure

Estero, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Matthew Wright scored 19 points and handed out six assists as St. Bonaventure registered a 70-67 win over the Wagner Seahawks in the second round of the inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bonnies (5-1) were Youssou Ndoye with 12 points and eight rebounds, followed by Andell Cumberbatch and Charlon Kloof with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Kloof also pulled down eight boards and handed out four assists in the triumph.

Wagner (4-3) was paced by Mario Moody with 19 points, while Jay Harris produced 14 and Orlando Parker 12 points, to go along with nine rebounds.

The Bonnies converted a sizzling 65.4 percent from the field in the first half, offsetting their mediocre 6-of-11 showing at the free-throw line, en route to a 43-31 advantage at the break.

In the second half St. Bonaventure continued to have issues at the charity stripe (6-of-12) and dipped to only 38.5 percent from the floor, making things rather interesting in the final moments as the Bonnies held on for the win.

Shooting only 4-of-16 beyond the arc, the Seahawks never led in the meeting.
