Recap: Ill-Chicago vs. Wagner

Estero, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Kelsey Barlow netted a career-high 38 points to help Illinois-Chicago clinch third place in the Gulf Coast Showcase with a 94-76 win over Wagner on Wednesday.

Barlow, a Purdue transfer, was terrific in every aspect of the game, adding seven rebounds and five assists for the Flames (3-4). The senior shot 8-of-11 from the floor and 17-of-19 from the foul line with five 3-pointers. Jake Wiegand and Pat Birt scored 11 points apiece off the bench.

Marcus Burton deposited 17 points for the Seahawks (4-4) while Kenneth Ortiz scored 15 as Wagner lost for the second time in as many nights. Latif Rivers added 14 points.

Barlow dropped 21 of his tournament-high 38 points during a 35-14 UIC surge in the second half. Wagner head coach Bashir Mason received two technicals during the run and was ejected with six minutes remaining in the contest.

The Flames led 46-37 at intermission after holding Wagner to just 9-of-27 shooting at the break.
