Recap: St Johns vs. Georgia Tech

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - D'Angelo Harrison scored 21 points as the St. John's Red Storm defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 69-58, in a consolation game of the Barclays Center Classic.

JaKarr Sampson added 16 points for St. John's (5-2).

Trae Golden and Robert Carter Jr. each scored nine points as the leading scorers for Georgia Tech (5-3). Daniel Miller pulled down 12 boards but went 4-of-11 from the floor to finish with eight points.

It was Georgia Tech that led, 31-24, at halftime after shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range in the first period. St. John's fell off the pace, collecting only seven field goals.

After the break the Red Storm heated up to 57.1 percent shooting, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 28.6 percent. The key stretch was a 17-0 run for St. John's that turned a 10-point deficit into a seven-point lead that the Red Storm would never relinquish.

The Red Storm scored 20 points off as many turnovers. Georgia Tech lost despite a 35-29 edge on the boards.
