Recap: Penn State vs. Ole Miss

Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Summers scored 19 points to lead the Ole Miss Rebels to a 79-76 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions in the title game of the Barclays Center Classic.

Marshall Henderson scored 19 points off the bench and Derrick Millinghaus chipped in 14 for Ole Miss (6-0).

Penn State (7-1) was paced by 23 points from D.J. Newbill. Ross Travis finished with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds and Tim Frazier dished out 10 assists.

Ole Miss hit 50 percent of its field goal attempts, including 8-of-12 from 3- point range, in the first half. Penn State was right behind the Rebels, notching 5-of-10 shots from beyond the arc and shooting 54.2 percent overall. The Rebels still led, 44-29, at the break.

Both teams cooled off in the second half with the Rebels at 41.9 percent shooting and the Nittany Lions at 42.9 percent. Ole Miss was clinging to a 75-74 lead with 1:30 to play but Henderson was fouled on a 3-point attempt on the other end and sank all three free throws to give the Rebels enough separation to pull out the win.

Penn State lost despite a 34-24 edge on points in the paint.
