Recap: Xavier vs. Tennessee

Nassau, Bahamas (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarnell Stokes had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Jordan McRae added 16 points and the Tennessee Volunteers defeated the Xavier Musketeers, 64-49, on Friday at the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.

Jeronne Maymon scored 14 for the Volunteers (4-2), who earned a trip to the tournament's fifth-place game.

Matt Stainbrook ended with 10 points for the Musketeers (5-2), who beat Tennessee 67-63 on Nov. 12.

Holding a 16-14 lead with 10 1/2 minutes left in the first half, Tennessee scored seven straight points to create some distance. Stokes capped the spurt with a layup.

The Volunteers maintained the lead and held a 39-26 margin at the break. Tennessee carried that momentum into the second half, starting the final period on an 8-0 run.
