Recap: Mercer vs. Jacksonville

Macon, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony White, Jr. poured in a career-high 29 points, as the second-seeded Mercer Bears made easy work of the seventh-seeded Jacksonville Dolphins, 85-64, in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament at Hawkins Arena.

White, Jr. shot 11-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc for Mercer (24-8), which will host third-seeded USC Upstate in the semifinals on Thursday. Bud Thomas tallied 18 points and nine rebounds, Jakob Gollon netted 10 points and Langston Hall handed out 10 assists.

Vince Martin had 17 points, Jarvis Haywood poured in 15 and Keith McDougald scored 10 as Jacksonville's (12-18) season came to a close.

Although Mercer was outshot from the field in the first half, 47.8 percent to 46.7 percent, it still carried a 37-28 lead into intermission by draining 6- of-9 from 3-point range and forcing nine Jacksonville turnovers.

The Bears' advantage was never in question down the stretch, as their lead swelled to as many as 27 in the second half.

Mercer won the rebounding battle, 36-30, and outscored Jacksonville in the paint, 39-16.
