Recap: UNC-Asheville vs. Radford

Conway, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Jaron Lane poured in a game-high 29 points and Andrew Rowsey added 27 to help UNC-Asheville take a 96-87 win over Radford in the quarterfinals of the Big South Conference Tournament.

Lane finished 11-for-13 from the free throw line and Rowsey was 10-for-15 from the field -- including 5-for-7 from 3-point range.

D.J. Cunningham added 18 points, 19 rebounds and two blocks and Sam Hughes chipped in with 10 points for the Bulldogs (17-14), who will face Winthrop in the semifinals on Saturday.

Rashun Davis scored 22 points and handed out six assists off the bench for the Highlanders (21-12), who had a three-game winning streak snapped. R.J. Price scored 15 points while Kion Brown and Javonte Green chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively, in the loss.

Radford jumped out to a 13-11 lead less than six minutes into the game, but a 19-8 surge put Asheville in front 30-19. Rowsey highlighted the run with a pair of triples.

The Bulldogs stretched the lead to 15, 43-28, after Rowsey's fourth trey of the half, and Asheville owned a 47-36 lead at the break.

The Bulldogs led by double digits early in the second half, but Radford managed to pull within seven, 68-61, with 7:53 remaining. Rowsey stretched Asheville's lead back to double digits, 71-61, with a 3-pointer, but Radford countered with a 12-6 swing to make it a four-point game.

Lane made three free throws and got a layup to go with just over three minutes left to make it a 82-75 and Radford never got closer than five the rest of the way.
