Recap: Milwaukee vs. Detroit

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Aaron paced five teammates in double figures with 16 points, as the fifth-seeded Milwaukee Panthers downed the eighth-seeded Detroit Titans, 83-73, in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Steve McWhorter added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Milwaukee (18-13), which will take on Valparaiso in Friday's second round. Kyle Kelm pitched in 13 points, while Cody Wichmann and JeVon Lyle were both solid off the bench with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

For Detroit (13-19), Juwan Howard, Jr. paced all scorers with 21 points to go with six assists. Matthew Grant poured in 16 points for the visitors, while Evan Bruinsma tallied 14 points and seven boards.

Milwaukee shot an impressive 53.3 percent from the field in the first half while holding Detroit to just 41.7 percent shooting, as it took a 42-28 lead into intermission.

The Panthers never relinquished their lead in the second stanza, shooting 47.4 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes and 18-of-21 at the foul line to advance.

Milwaukee made the most of Detroit's 15 turnovers, scoring 29 points off of those miscues.
