Recap: Mount St Marys vs. St Francis-NY

Emmitsburg, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Rashad Whack's 3-pointer just before the buzzer sealed a stunning comeback as Mount St. Mary's eked out a 72-71 victory over St. Francis-NY in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament.

Staring at a 19-point deficit with nine minutes to play, Mount St. Mary's pulled off the turnaround by holding the Terriers to one field goal the rest of the way.

St. Francis' Lowell Ulmer had a chance to seal the outcome at the foul line but missed 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch, and Whack's game-winning bucket sent the fourth-seeded Mountaineers (14-16) into the semifinals against Wagner on Saturday.

Whack finished with 28 points and Julian Norfleet added 17 in the victory, while Ulmer paced St. Francis (18-14) with 18.

The Terriers were the No. 5 seed.
