Recap: Furman vs. Elon

Greenville, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Lucas Troutman finished with a game-high 23 points as the Elon Phoenix ran over the Furman Paladins, 78-49, in a Southern Conference clash at Timmons Arena.

Elon (18-11, 11-3 SoCon) has won eight straight games.

Stephen Croone netted 13 points for Furman (9-19, 3-12), which had won two of its previous three.

In the first half the Phoenix shot at a 41.9 percent clip, including a 5-of-13 showing from 3-point range. The Paladins totaled only eight field goals in the frame and trailed, 32-22, at halftime.

Elon continued to dominate in the second period, when it hit on 67.9 percent from the floor to coast to victory.

The Phoenix benefited from sizable scoring advantages in the paint (48-12) and off of turnovers (25-5).
