Corvallis, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Oregon State fired men's head basketball coach Craig Robinson on Monday.

Robinson, the brother-in-law of President Barack Obama, was 94-105 in six seasons with the school and just 39-69 in Pac-12 play.

The Beavers never made the NCAA Tournament or NIT during his tenure.

"I want to thank Coach Robinson and his family for their contributions to Oregon State University," Beavers athletics director Bob De Carolis said. "This was a difficult decision, but after further evaluation, I believe it is in the best interests of our student-athletes, our basketball program and our University."

Robinson will receive a buyout of $4 million.

Robinson left his head coaching position at Brown University following the 2007-08 season to take over a struggling OSU program that had just completed a miserable 6-25 season, becoming the first team in Pac-10 history to go 0-18 in conference play.

In Robinson's first season, the Beavers went 18-18 and captured the program's first postseason title in school history after taking the College Basketball Invitational in a best-of-three series with UTEP.

Oregon State was 16-16 this past season.
