Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Four members of Alabama's BCS national championship team have been arrested for allegedly attacking and robbing two university students on Monday.

According to depositions filed by campus police that were obtained by the Tuscaloosa News, defensive lineman D.J. Pettway, linebacker Tyler Hayes and cornerback Eddie Williams were booked on second degree robbery charges following an assault of the two students, one of which had his backpack stolen that contained a laptop computer. The other had his wallet taken.

In addition, Williams and reserve running back Brent Calloway were charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.

All four players have been suspended indefinitely from the team.

"The young men charged are indefinitely suspended as we continue to gather information and talk to the appropriate people," Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban said in a statement. The university and football program have strict guidelines regarding issues of this magnitude. This behavior is unacceptable for any student-athlete at the University of Alabama and not representative of our football program."

All were freshmen non-starters on the 2012 Crimson Tide squad which captured its second consecutive national title after last month's 42-14 victory over Notre Dame in the BCS Championship Game held in Miami.

Pettway had eight tackles and 2.5 sacks while appearing in 13 games as a redshirt freshman last season, with Hayes recording 14 tackles in 13 contests as a true freshman. Calloway, also a redshirt freshman, had 10 carries totaling 63 yards over 13 games.

Williams was redshirted during the 2012 campaign.
