Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Cincinnati Bearcats senior quarterback Munchie Legaux underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair several ligaments in his left knee.
Dr. Angelo Colosimo, the Bearcats' director of orthopedic services, performed the season-ending surgery at UC Medical Center.
Legaux had to be carted off the field in the fourth quarter of the Bearcats' 45-17 loss to Illinois on Sept. 7 after being hit by a pair of Illinois players while attempting to pass. The Cincinnati signal-caller remained on the ground for several minutes writhing in obvious pain before having his left leg immobilized.
Prior to the injury, Legaux had thrown for 237 yards and a touchdown while adding 52 yards and a score on the ground.
In 31 career games, Legaux has passed for 2,847 yards with 20 touchdowns, while adding seven TDs and 627 yards on the ground.
