Ann Arbor, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke announced Wednesday that offensive coordinator Al Borges will not return to his staff for the 2014 season.

The move comes after the Wolverines often struggled on the offensive end while losing five of their final six games of this past season. Michigan was held under 200 total yards in three of those defeats and managed just 261 in a 31-14 setback to Kansas State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.

Overall the Wolverines ranked 87th in the FBS in total offense under Borges, who also served as Hoke's OC at San Diego State from 2009-10 before following him to Michigan the subsequent season.

"Decisions like these are never easy," said Hoke in a statement. "I have a great amount of respect for Al as a football coach and, more importantly, as a person. I appreciate everything he has done for Michigan Football for the past three seasons."
