Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - Mike Glennon completed 24-of-34 attempts for 257 yards and three touchdowns to lead the NC State Wolfpack to an overpowering 31-7 triumph over the South Alabama Jaguars in a non-conference bout at Carter- Finley Stadium.

Tony Creecy added 68 yards and a score on 15 carries for NC State (2-1), which picked up the win in its home debut. Quintin Payton caught five passes for 61 yards and a score while Bryan Underwood racked up 58 yards and a touchdown on three catches. NC State's defense racked up seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss in the contest.

Two different players saw action under center for USA (1-2). Ross Metheny completed 14-of-20 189 yards with a single touchdown and interception while C.J. Bennett connected with his target on 10-of-15 attempts for 74 yards with an interception Wes Saxton led the Jaguars with 72 yards on four grabs. Demetre Baker averaged 6.4 yards a carry, but he had just seven carries in the contest.

NC State jumped out in front when Glennon completed a 33-yard touchdown strike to Rashard Smith with 9:22 left in the opening period.

The Wolfpack then extended their lead as Glennon found Underwood for a touchdown pass for the third straight game to open the season.

The second quarter was more of the same as Creecy rushed 11 yards for a touchdown to make it a three touchdown advantage with 6:52 left before the break.

The Wolfpack built their lead even further as Glennon completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Payton at the 2:33 mark of the second period. The touchdown pass gave NC State a 28-0 advantage into heading into halftime.

After the intermission, NC State shut out USA for the third consecutive period, but managed just a 22-yard field goal by Niklas Sade in the third quarter.

The Jaguars managed to avoid the shutout as Metheny completed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jereme Jones with 5:20 left to play.

USA managed to gain only 51 yards on the ground.
