Recap: Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State

Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Mike Gundy became the winningest coach in Oklahoma State history as the Cowboys rolled to a 31-10 win over the Iowa State Cyclones in Big 12 play at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The victory was the 63rd for Gundy at OSU, as he moved past Pat Jones to become the school's career leader.

Joseph Randle ran for 151 yards and two touchdowns for the Cowboys (4-2, 2-1 Big 12), while J.W. Walsh threw for 415 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Josh Stewart finished with 13 catches for 89 yards, and Charlie Moore caught eight passes for 129 yards and a score.

For the Cyclones (4-3, 1-3), Jared Barnett threw for 206 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also led the team on the ground with 49 rushing yards.

Iowa State drove 75 yards on nine plays during its opening possession, as Barnett found Jeff Woody for a two-yard touchdown pass to cap the drive.

OSU tied the score midway through the first quarter on a four-yard TD scamper by Randle.

The Cyclones closed out the first-quarter scoring with a 41-yard field goal from Edwin Arceo at the 3:17 mark.

The Cowboys answered with a 20-yard field goal from Quinn Sharp to knot the score at 10 apiece with 14:28 to play in the second quarter. On the first play of their next possession, Walsh hit Charlie Moore for a 74-yard touchdown strike to make it a 17-10 game.

The score would remain that way until the 9:32 mark of the third quarter, when Randle scored his second TD of the day on a 12-yard run. The Cowboys pushed their lead to 31-10 on a three-yard touchdown run by Walsh with 10:09 to play in regulation.

Oklahoma State held a commanding 625-341 edge in total offense, as the Cowboys controlled the tempo by converting 9-of-18 third downs.
