Recap: Oklahoma vs. Kansas State

Norman, OK (Sports Network) - John Hubert rushed 23 times for 130 yards, including a decisive 9-yard score in the fourth quarter, as No. 15 Kansas State defeated No. 6 Oklahoma, 24-19, on Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Kansas State trailed 13-10 entering the final quarter, but got a 5-yard touchdown run from Collin Klein early in the frame to take a four-point lead.

After a quick three-and-out from the Sooners, Hubert capped an 8-play, 77-yard drive with his touchdown surge to give the Wildcats a two-score edge.

Landry Jones responded by hitting Sterling Shepard for a 10-yard scoring strike, but OU elected to kick it deep and Klein was able to run out the clock with a pair of third-down conversions to seal the victory.

"It was just one of those things where we were finally able to move the ball in the fourth quarter," Klein said of the comeback. "We knew we had to get it; we credit our offensive line for giving us the ability to let us do what we had to do. We were able to execute when we had to execute."

Klein finished 13-of-21 passing for 149 yards, while also rushing 17 times for 79 yards a score for the Wildcats (4-0, 1-0 Big 12), who won for the first time in Norman since 1997.

Jones passed for 298 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 28-of-43 passing, while Shepard hauled in seven passes for 108 yards and a score, as the Sooners (2-1, 0-1 Big 12) lost their first regular-season contest against KSU under coach Bob Stoops.

"The number one thing that's obvious is turnovers," Stoops said. "It's just bad football. You give up three turnovers and don't get one, you're going to lose against a good team every time and that's how it went."

Oklahoma struck first on its opening drive when Michael Hunnicutt nailed a 28- yard field goal.

After the teams exchanged punts, the Wildcats' defense came up with a big play, as Justin Tuggle sacked Jones and knocked the ball free in the process.

Jarell Childs scooped it up and took it two yards into the end zone to give the Wildcats a 7-3 lead.

Jones led the Sooners deep into Kansas State territory on their ensuing drive, hitting Shepard for 11 yards down to the Wildcats' 9.

Damien Williams' run moved the home team down to the 1-yard line before Blake Bell came in at quarterback and fumbled the snap, which was recovered by Ty Zimmerman to give possession back to the Wildcats.

The Wildcats responded with a 13-play, 88-yard drive, but settled for a 23- yard field goal from Anthony Cantele to grab a 10-3 lead late in the second.

Hunnicutt answered with a 34-yard field goal to send the Sooners into the locker room facing a 10-6 deficit.

After the teams exchanged punts to start the second half, Oklahoma caught a break deep in its own territory, as Jones tried to hand the ball off to Roy Finch, who was coming in motion, but fumbled it away.

Kansas State pounced on the loose ball, but the replay officials ruled the play an incompletion and the Sooners maintained possession.

The home team took advantage of the fortuitous call, as Jones completed five straight passes to move the Sooners down to the KSU 14.

Jones made it six in a row when he hit Kenny Stills for seven yards down to the 2-yard line and two plays later, Bell punched it in from three yards out to give the Sooners a 13-10 lead.

KSU punted on its next possession, but got the ball back when Zimmerman picked off Jones at the Oklahoma 38, which led to Klein's go-ahead score early in the fourth.
