Recap: Oklahoma vs. Texas

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Blake Bell ran for four touchdowns in the first half, Landry Jones threw for 321 yards with two scores and the 13th-ranked Oklahoma Sooners annihilated the 15th-ranked Texas Longhorns, 63-21, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Jones completed 21-of-37 passes with an interception for the Sooners (4-1, 2-1 Big 12), who have won two in a row since a loss to Kansas State on Sept. 22.

"We just played really well," Jones said. "We're capable of doing that all the time if people are going to play hard and people are going to play smart. We're just capable of doing a lot of different things."

Damien Williams carried the ball 22 times for 167 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma, which racked up 343 yards on the ground. Trey Millard caught five passes for 119 yards and a score.

David Ash connected on 13-of-29 passes for 113 yards and two interceptions for the Longhorns (4-2, 1-2), who have lost two straight games since starting the season 4-0. Case McCoy completed 5-of-8 passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

"I want to congratulate Oklahoma," Texas coach Mack Brown said. "We had some guys play well, but we didn't play well as a team. I thought they out-coached us. I I thought they out-hit us and they were more physical than we were."

Oklahoma jumped out to a 27-2 lead before Texas recorded a first down.

The Sooners started the game with an impressive 14-play, 75-yard drive. Trey Metoyer caught a 14-yard pass on 3rd-and-8 and Bell ran for five yards on 3rd-and-1 to keep the march going. Faced with a 4th-and-1 from the Texas 11, Bell ran for three yards. He followed that up with an 8-yard rushing TD. However, Texas blocked the extra point and Quandre Diggs went the other way for a two-point defensive conversion.

Oklahoma started from its own 5-yard line with 4 1/2 minutes left. On the second play, Williams found a hole on the right side and sprinted 95 yards down the sideline for a touchdown. The extra point was good this time around, making it a 13-2 contest.

The Sooners continued to roll on offense, bridging the first and second quarters with an 11-play, 62-yard drive. Millard caught a 12-yard pass and ripped off a 15-yard run. Kenny Stills added a 15-yard catch to move the ball into the red zone. Bell capped the march with a 1-yard TD run.

On the first play of Oklahoma's next drive, Millard caught a pass at the line of scrimmage and hurdled over a defender along the right sideline. The 73-yard play set up Bell's 1-yard TD run, making it a 27-2 game with 9:41 left in the half.

Texas finally got a first down on its ensuing possession, when Mike Davis caught a 31-yard pass down the left sideline. But on the very next play, Ash was intercepted by Aaron Colvin.

Things got worse for the Longhorns after a punt from Oklahoma was downed at the 1-yard line. Joe Bergeron was then tackled in his own end zone for a safety.

Bell's fourth touchdown of the first half -- another 1-yard score -- made it 36-2 at the break.

The Longhorns finally scored a touchdown early in the second half. Carrington Byndom picked off Jones and went 28 yards the other way for a score. Anthony Fera missed the extra point.

Michael Hunnicutt's 36-yard field goal and Millard's 25-yard TD catch gave Oklahoma a 46-8 lead after three quarters.

The Sooners outscored Texas by a 17-13 margin in the fourth stanza.
