Recap: Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State

Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Blake Bell's 4-yard touchdown run tied the game with four seconds remaining in regulation and Brennan Clay ran for an 18-yard score in overtime to lift No. 14 Oklahoma to a thrilling 51-48 win over 22nd- ranked Oklahoma State.

The 107th edition of the Bedlam Series required an additional period because of a gutsy play call on 4th-and-1. Bell took the handoff, powered his way over the left guard and into the end zone, capping a 17-play drive that began at the Oklahoma 14.

After Quinn Sharp kicked a 26-yard field goal for Oklahoma State in overtime, Clay charged up the middle of the line, bowled over a defender and shrugged off another on his way for the touchdown that kept Oklahoma's hopes of a Big 12 title alive.

The Sooners (9-2, 7-1 Big 12) are tied with Kansas State for first place in the conference standings. Oklahoma wraps up its regular season at TCU, while the Wildcats come off a bye week to play Texas.

Should the two finish with identical league records, the Wildcats would win the crown thanks to their 24-19 win over Oklahoma back on Sept. 22.

Quarterback Landry Jones piled up the yardage for Oklahoma and in the process supplanted Texas Tech's Graham Harrell as the Big 12's career passing leader.

Jones completed 46 of his astounding 71 attempts for 500 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He passed Harrell, who compiled 15,793 yards from 2005-08, and is now first with 16,124.

"What more do you want from a guy? He was fabulous out there tonight," Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops said of Jones.

Clint Chelf had 253 yards, one touchdown and one interception while connecting on 19-of-37 throws for Oklahoma State (7-4, 5-3), which never trailed until the final score.

Joseph Randle rushed for 113 yards and four touchdowns in the Cowboys' ninth loss in the last 10 years to Oklahoma. They haven't won in Norman since 2001.

"I think everyone can agree that it was one heck of a game, but I'm disappointed that we came up on the short end," Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said. "I'm very proud of our team, for the way they competed; they just had the last play."

A change in quarters brought a change in momentum for Oklahoma.

Down 38-30 at the start of the fourth frame, the Sooners forced a punt and Jalen Saunders returned it 81 yards to the end zone. Jones hit Justin Brown for the 2-point conversion, tying the game.

After the teams traded punts, Oklahoma State reclaimed the lead behind a ground game that shredded the Oklahoma defense. Randle ran for totals of 32 and 10 yards, Jeremy Smith picked up 18 yards and J.W. Walsh scored on a 2- yard carry.

The Sooners moved the ball into the red zone on the game's opening drive, but came up empty when Michael Hunnicutt's 32-yard try sailed wide right.

After going three-and-out on its first possession, Oklahoma State produced points on each of its next three to build a 17-3 lead.

Randle scored on a pair of short runs and Sharp drilled a 42-yard field goal with 11:19 remaining in the second quarter.

Jones, however, erased the 14-point deficit with touchdown passes of 14 and nine yards to Trey Millard and Saunders.

The back-and-forth battle continued as Chelf and Jones each directed 7-play scoring drives in the final 2:42 of the first half. Kenny Stills snagged a deflected ball for a 15-yard score, countering another Randle touchdown.

Following the break, the Cowboys struck quickly and moved back in front when Chelf faked a handoff and found a wide-open Josh Stewart over the middle for a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the third quarter.

A 45-yard Hunnicutt field goal trimmed Oklahoma's deficit to 31-27, but a Millard fumble led to Randle stretching the ball across the goal line, capping a 16-play, 86-yard trek.

The Sooners advanced the ball deep into Oklahoma State territory on the ensuing drive before settling for a 30-yard Hunnicutt field goal.
