Recap: Navy vs. Fla Atlantic

Annapolis, MD (Sports Network) - Keenan Reynolds threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 159 yards and a score as he led the Navy Midshipmen to a 24-17 victory over the Florida Atlantic Owls at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

The win made the Midshipmen (6-3) bowl-eligible for the ninth time in 10 seasons as they registered their fifth straight victory overall.

Reynolds converted 8-of-15 passes and led the team in rushing on 26 attempts. Brandon Turner only had two receptions for 45 yards but each catch was for a touchdown.

For Florida Atlantic (2-7), Jonathan Wallace rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries as the Owls bowed for the seventh time in the last eight outings.

Quarterback Graham Wilbert was 25-of-35 for 205 yards through the air. William Dukes was his key receiver with 75 yards on five catches.

The Owls struck first following a scoreless opening quarter, putting together a 15-play, 72-yard drive that lasted nearly eight minutes and was capped off by a one-yard touchdown run by Wallace off a direct snap. After Mitch Anderson knocked through a 53-yard field goal, Florida Atlantic led 10-0.

Navy got its offense going later in the quarter when Reynolds managed a 48- yard run that set up a 14-yard touchdown pass to Turner.

Late in the first half, after Florida Atlantic turned the ball over on downs, the Midshipmen drove 85 yards in just over two minutes, leading to a one-yard TD run by Reynolds to give the hosts a 14-10 edge at the break.

Navy kept things going in the second half as Reynolds found Turner for another score, this one a 31-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive. Nick Sloan then kicked a 20-yard field goal to increase the Midshipmen lead to 14.

After a scoreless third quarter for FAU, Wallace ran in a three-yard touchdown midway through the fourth period that cut their deficit to seven. However, on their final drive of the game, the Owls turned the ball over on downs.
