Recap: Oregon vs. Washington

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Marcus Mariota threw four touchdown passes on Saturday and the No. 2 Oregon Ducks dominated No. 23 Washington, 52-21, at Autzen Stadium.

Mariota went 15-of-24 passing for 198 yards and an interception, while Kenjon Barner added 122 yards on 20 carries and De'Anthony Thomas chipped in 75 yards and a score on 10 rushes for the Ducks (6-0, 3-0 Pac-12), who have scored 30- plus points in 19 straight games.

"We played a great overall game out there," Mariota said. "Offensively, defensively, special teams, we were clicking on all cylinders."

Keith Price finished 19-of-31 for 145 yards and two interceptions for Washington (3-2, 1-1), which has lost nine straight meetings with the Ducks, which is the longest streak for either side in the 111-year history of the rivalry.

"It was extremely frustrating," Washington coach Steve Sarkisian said of the loss. "We had a hard time tacking the quarterback when he got out of the pocket. That made things difficult for us. I don't think the score is indicative of their football team as compared to ours."

Bishop Sankey rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in a losing effort.

After turning the ball over on its first possession, Oregon took advantage of a Washington miscue to score the game's first touchdown, as Marvin Hall fumbled a punt, which was recovered by Oregon at the Washington 20.

Two plays later, Thomas carried the ball 16 yards into the end zone to give Oregon a 7-0 lead.

Washington punted on its next possession and Oregon needed just four plays to double its advantage, as Mariota found Colt Lyerla for 48 yards to set up his 21-yard touchdown strike to Keanon Lowe for a 14-0 lead.

Price connected on two straight passes on Washington's ensuing drive, but his next pass was intercepted by Avery Patterson, who took it 43 yards to the end zone to give the Ducks a 21-point edge.

Price bounced back however, completing three straight passes before Sankey capped the 7-play, 73-yard drive with a 1-yard plunge to bring the Huskies within 21-7 early in the second quarter.

Mariota then led the Ducks on a 10-play, 76-yard drive, as he found Lyerla for a 10-yard scoring strike to press the margin to 28-7.

After a Washington fumble, Mariota completed his next three passes, including a 34-yard touchdown pass to Josh Huff for a 28-point lead.

Oregon forced a three-and-out and quickly moved into Washington territory, but Rob Beard missed a 41-yard field goal.

After the Huskies went three-and-out on their opening possession of the second half, they committed back-to-back personal foul penalties to set the Ducks up with good field position before Oregon settled for a 28-yarder from Beard.

Washington then converted three third downs on its ensuing possession and Sankey's 6-yard surge pulled the Huskies within 38-14 late in the third.

Oregon answered with an 11-play, 83-yard drive that took just over three minutes, as Barner converted a 3rd-and-1 with a 5-yard run before Mariota hit Lyerla for a 13-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter to restore the Ducks' 31-point lead.

Washington tried a fake punt on its next possession, but Pio Vatuvei fumbled the ball back to Oregon and Byron Marshall took the next carry 32 yards before punching it in from four yards out two plays later for a 52-14 advantage.

Erich Wilson added a 1-yard touchdown rush in the final minute to account for the final margin.
