Recap: Utah vs. Arizona

Logan, UT (Sports Network) - Ka'Deem Carey rushed for 204 yards and a touchdown as the Arizona Wildcats knocked the Utah Utes out of postseason eligibility with a 34-24 win during Pac-12 action at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Matt Scott threw for 160 yards and a score on 12-of-27 passing for Arizona (7-4, 4-4 Pac-12) and also ran for 74 yards and a score. Austin Hill brought in six passes for 96 yards and a score.

Travis Wilson threw for 311 yards and two touchdown while completing 28-of-40 pass attempts for Utah (4-7, 2-6). John White ran for 112 yards on 27 carries and Dres Anderson had seven receptions for 73 yards.

A 44-yard field goal from John Banano opened up the scoring for Arizona.

Utah got a three-yard touchdown run from Coleman Petersen to jump ahead 7-3 early in the second quarter.

Carey scored on a one-yard touchdown run soon after to put Arizona back ahead.

Scott added to that lead with a 10-yard touchdown run of his own midway through the second quarter.

The Utes then scored 17 unanswered points led off by a 34-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Jake Murphy at the end of the second quarter.

The Utes then got a 24-yard field goal from Petersen and a 36-yard touchdown pass from Wilson to DeVonte Christopher to take a 24-17 lead into the fourth quarter.

The final frame was all Arizona who scored 17 straight points to pull out the win. First Daniel Jenkins scored on a two-yard touchdown run. Then Hill caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Matt Scott. Finally a 24-yard field goal from Bonano with a little more than a minute remaining put the game out of reach.

Utah lost despite having a more than 10 minute edge in time of possession.
