Recap: Oregon State vs. California

Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Sean Mannion threw four first-half touchdown passes, Terron Ward ran for two scores and the 15th-ranked Oregon State Beavers cruised to a 62-14 triumph over the California Golden Bears.

Mannion registered 325 passing yards and Ward totaled 128 yards on 14 carries for the Beavers (8-2, 6-2 Pac-12).

"He had a great week of practice, prepared hard and studied a lot," Oregon State coach Mike Riley said of Mannion. "He came out very aggressively. He played with confidence, was fast and went after it. Good things happened."

Allan Bridgford had just 132 passing yards with one interception and added a rushing touchdown for California (3-9, 2-7), which ended the season on a five-game slide.

"It's obvious we have work to do," said California coach Jeff Tedford.

Mannion was intercepted on Oregon State's first drive of the game, but he rebounded to find Markus Wheaton for an 11-yard touchdown after Bridgford was picked off.

The Golden Bears countered on the ensuing drive when Isi Sofele ran for a 9- yard score.

From that point on, it was all Beavers. Oregon State scored 42 straight points to take control.

Tyler Anderson added a 1-yard plunge in the first quarter before Mannion connected on scoring strikes of 48 yards to Brandin Cooks, 14 yards to Connor Hamlett and six yards to Micah Hatfield, giving the Beavers a 35-7 halftime lead.

Following the break, Storm Woods ran for a 1-yard TD and Ward scampered 47 yards to the end zone.

Bridgford scored from a yard out with 58 seconds left in the third quarter before Ward registered his second touchdown.

Oregon State backup quarterback Richie Harrington capped the onslaught with an 8-yard TD to Malcolm Agnew.
