Recap: UCLA vs. Utah

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Brett Hundley's efficient afternoon guided the UCLA Bruins to a win over the Utah Utes, 21-14, at the Rose Bowl.

Hundley connected on 15-of-21 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown for the Bruins (5-2, 2-2 Pac-12) while adding 68 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in all seven games this season. Johnathan Franklin led the Bruins with 79 rushing yards and a score on 22 carries.

In his first career start, Utah (2-4, 0-3) quarterback Travis Wilson completed 23-of-33 passes for 220 yards and an interception. John White led the Utes with 11 rushes for 44 yards, and Dres Anderson had nine catches for 70 yards and a score.

Hundley showed off his athleticism on the Bruins' second drive of the game, scrambling for a touchdown from 12 yards out. After Utah's Ryan Lacey picked up a blocked punt in the end zone to tie the game, Hundley hit Shaquelle Evans for a 64-yard touchdown pass.

The second quarter concluded without a score, and UCLA held a 14-7 halftime advantage.

Franklin gave UCLA a 14-point cushion midway through the third quarter when he ran in a touchdown from three yards out.

The Utes fought back to within a touchdown when Jon Hays, who had started the previous three games, relieved Wilson in the red zone and threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Anderson with 3:16 left in regulation after a 11-play, 90- yard drive. UCLA burned most of the remaining time off the clock before Utah got the ball back with just seconds remaining and failed to come up with a miracle.

With the win, UCLA snaps a two-game losing streak to the Utes and improve to 9-2 in the all-time series.
