Recap: Utah vs. Washington St

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - John White rushed for 101 yards and a pair of scores as the Utah Utes downed the Washington State Cougars 49-6 in a Pac-12 matchup at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Utah (4-5, 2-4 Pac-12) rushed for 205 yards as a team while Travis Wilson threw for 171 yards and two scores on 17-of-21 passing.

Jeff Tuel threw for 232 yards on 23-for-45 passing with a touchdown and an interception for Washington State (2-7, 0-6). Marquess Wilson caught five passes for 73 yards. The Cougars finished with minus-four yards rushing as Tuel was sacked six times.

On just the second play of Utah's second possession, White ran the ball 47 yards into the end zone to give Utah a 7-0 lead early on.

Wilson completed a five-yard touchdown pas to Max Moala later in the first quarter.

White found the end zone again in the second quarter scoring on a two-yard touchdown run that extended Utah's lead to 21-0.

Coleman Petersen nailed a 20-yard field goal midway through the period for Utah.

After his first two scores came on the ground, White got a touchdown through the air when he hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass from Wilson just before the break.

Reggie Dunn returned the opening kickoff in the second half 100 yards for a touchdown and the Utes added a two-point conversion after the kickoff return to further extend their lead.

Petersen nailed a 22-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter and Lucky Radley scored on a nine-yard touchdown run as the Utes continued to Hammer the Cougars.

Tuel threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Kristoff Williams as time expired to account for the Cougars' only score of the game.

Utah had almost 200 yards more of total offense (453-255) than Washington State. The Cougars were just 2-for-15 on third down and were on the short end of a 15:18 discrepancy in time of possession.
