Recap: Purdue vs. Michigan

West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - Denard Robinson rushed for 235 yards and threw for 105 as the Michigan Wolverines routed the Purdue Boilermakers 44-13 in a Big Ten conference game at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Robinson completed 8-of-16 passes with a touchdown for Michigan (3-2, 1-0 Big Ten) and became the Big Ten's career leader in rushing yards by a quarterback.

Caleb TerBush threw for only 105 yards on 16-of-25 passing with a touchdown and an interception in the loss for Purdue (3-2, 0-1). The Boilermakers managed only 56 yards rushing as compared to 304 by the Wolverines. The loss was the first of the season at home for Purdue.

Fitzgerald Toussaint scored on a pair of one-yard touchdown runs in the first and second quarter as Michigan got out to a 14-0 advantage.

The Wolverine's defense put points on the board in the second quarter when Raymon Taylor intercepted a Terbush pass and returned it 63 yards for a score.

The Boilermakers got a 40-yard field goal from Paul Griggs midway through the fourth quarter for Purdue's first points of the contest.

Robinson connected with Devin Gardner for a 23-yard touchdown pass on the Wolverines' ensuing drive as the Michigan lead grew to 28-3.

A four-yard touchdown pass from TerBush to O.J. Ross just before the half cut into the Boilermakers' deficit.

Michigan got the first score of the second half when Brendan Gibbons hit a 29- yard field goal to cap off an eight-play, 61-yard drive midway through the third quarter.

Purdue got a 37-yard field goal from Griggs early in the fourth quarter.

The Wolverines made it a three-touchdown game yet again with a 42-yard field goal from Gibbons on their next drive.

Gibbons would add another field goal (27 yards) just over four minutes later.

That wouldn't be the end of the scoring for Michigan which added a seven-yard touchdown run from Thomas Rawls.

Michigan dominated in time of possession holding the ball for 36:11 in the game including more than 12 minutes in the first quarter, Purdue converted only 1-of-13 third down attempts into first downs.
