Recap: Louisiana vs. Tulane

Lafayette, LA (Sports Network) - Alonzo Harris rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns routed the Tulane Green Wave 41-13 in a non-conference matchup at Cajun Field.

Effrem Reed added 85 yards on the ground for Louisiana (4-1). Terrance Broadway completed only 9-of-22 passes for 150 yards and an interception but also threw for two touchdowns. Javone Lawson caught both of those scoring passes and finished with 82 yards on four receptions. Louisiana has won eight straight at home.

Tulane's (0-5) woes continue as the Green Wave suffered its 15th straight loss. That is the longest such streak in the nation. D.J. Ponder completed 14- of-39 pass attempts for 173 yards and a score along with two interceptions. Justyn Shackleford caught three of those passes for 96 yards and a score. Robert Kelley added 55 yards on 10 carries.

A 46-yard field goal from Brett Baer gave Louisiana a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter,

Lawson caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Broadway early in the second quarter to extend the Ragin' Cajuns' advantage.

Louisiana increased its lead to 17-0 on a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown from Justin Anderson.

Tulane finally got some points on the board when Ponder hooked up with Shackleford for a 71-yard passing touchdown less than six minutes before halftime.

Broadway ran in for a 10-yard touchdown on the Ragin' Cajuns' next drive to keep the Louisiana lead at 17, 24-7.

The Green Wave managed to get a 40-yard field goal from Cairo Santos just before the half, as it headed to the locker room trailing 24-10.

Louisiana really began to pull away in the third quarter getting touchdowns on a 20-yard pass from Broadway to Lawson and a one-yard run from Harris to take a 38-10 lead.

A 47-yard field goal from Santos early in the fourth quarter marked Tulane's first and only points of the second half.

Louisiana got a 31-yard field goal from Baer to account for the 41-13 final score.

The Ragin' Cajuns held a 444-226 edge in total yards including a 294-53 advantage in rushing yards.
