Recap: Missouri vs. Syracuse

Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Ryan Nassib threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Alec Lemon with 20 seconds left in regulation to give the Syracuse Orange a stunning 31-27 win over the Missouri Tigers at Faurot Field.

Nassib finished with 385 yards and two touchdowns while completing 26-of-40 pass attempts for Syracuse (6-5). Lemon brought in 12 of those passes for 244 yards and a pair of scores while Marcus Sales finished with eight receptions for 85 yards. Prince-Tyson Gulley led the way on the ground with 53 yards and a score.

James Franklin threw for 279 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 17-of-23 pass attempts for Missouri (5-6). Kendial Lawrence rushed for 119 yards and scored a touchdown while three different player finished with at least 70 yards through the air.

Missouri led 14-3 at the end of the first quarter on a pair of touchdown passes from Franklin. The first was a 70-yard throw to Dorial Green-Beckham less than two minutes into the game. The second was a 30-yard strike to Jimmie Hunt. Syracuse got on the board with a 44-yard field goal from Ross Krautman.

The Tigers' lead stretched to 17-3 with a 20-yard field goal from Andrew Baggett midway through the second quarter.

Gulley scored on a one-yard touchdown run a little more than three minutes later to put the score at 17-10 going into the break.

After neither team scored in the third quarter Syracuse tied the game at 17-17 with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Nassib to Lemon less than a minute into the final period.

Missouri answered with a three-yard touchdown run from Lawrence to reclaim the lead, 24-17, with a little more than seven minutes remaining.

An eight-yard touchdown run from Jerome Smith on Syracuse's next possession had the score tied yet again.

The Tigers tacked on a 46-yard field goal from Baggett with less than two minutes remaining to once again pull ahead.

Taking over from its own 19, the Orange then drove the ball 81 yards to the end zone, capped off by Nassib's game-winning touchdown throw.

In a game that featured nearly 1,000 yards of total offense the Orange had the edge with 508 yards to Missouri's 484.
