Recap: Idaho vs. New Mexico St

Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Dominique Blackman threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns as the Idaho Vandals held on for a 26-18 win over the New Mexico State Aggies in a Western Athletic Conference bout at the Kibbie Dome.

Blackman completed 26-of-48 pass attempts and was intercepted once as well for Idaho (1-5, 1-1 WAC ). The win snaps an eight-game losing streak for the Vandals, which was tied for the second-longest losing streak in the nation entering play. Jahrie Level caught eight passes for 92 yards and a touchdown and Ryan Bass had a team-high 45 yards on the ground.

Andrew Manley completed 28-of-45 passes for 309 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice in the loss for New Mexico State (1-5, 0-2). Austin Franklin had nine receptions for 115 yards while Kemonte Bateman added five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. The Aggies have lost seven in a row on the road and five straight overall.

The two squads traded field goals midway through first quarter. Tyler Stampler nailed a 42-yarder for New Mexico State and Trey Farquhar answered with a 39- yard kick for Idaho.

The Vandals got the first touchdown of the game on a 35-yard touchdown pass from Blackman to Najee Lovett that gave Idaho a 10-3 lead.

Idaho would extened that lead to 17-3 with a 17-yard passing touchdown from Blackman to Level.

Manley threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Bateman to put an end to the Vandals' scoring streak.

A 55-yard field goal from Farquhar as time expired in the first half gave Idaho a 20-10 lead heading into the locker room.

Farquhar added two more field goals in the third quarter, one from 32 yards out and the other from 53 to increase the Idaho lead to 26-10.

New Mexico State made it close at the end with Manley scoring on a one-yard rushing touchdown with just over two minutes remaining. The Aggies were then successful on the two-point conversion attempt to pull within one score.

However, Idaho recovered the ensuing onside kick attempt and was then able to run out the clock.

The one-yard rushing touchdown by Manley came in the Aggies' only red zone trip of thee contest. Idaho converted on 2-of-3 of its own red zone attempts.
