Recap: San Diego St vs. Air Force

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Adam Muema rushed for 81 yards and a pair of scores as the San Diego State Aztecs rolled past the Air Force Falcons, 28-9, in Mountain West Conference action at Qualcomm Stadium.

Walter Kazee also had a big day rushing with 106 yards on 23 carries for the Aztecs (8-3, 6-1 MWC), who have now won six straight games. Adam Dingwell didn't need to do much through the air, completing just 11-of-18 passes for 90 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

The Falcons (5-5, 4-2) rushed for 320 yards as a team, led by Cody Getz (55 yards) and Wes Cobb (48 yards, TD). Connor Dietz completed 7-of-11 passes for 63 yards with an interception and he was also sacked three times. Air Force has lost back-to-back games for the first time since September.

Air Force drove deep into Aztecs' territory early in the first quarter, but it had to settle for a 22-yard field goal from Parker Herrington to go up, 3-0.

San Diego State responded later in the quarter to take the lead on a 20-yard touchdown run from Muema.

The Aztecs began the second quarter with a 12-play, 71-yard drive and they were able to cash in with another touchdown rush by Muema (15 yards) to take a 14-3 lead.

Air Force was driving at the start of the third quarter, but a Dietz fumble was recovered by Everett Beed, who returned it 52 yards for a touchdown to extend San Diego State's lead.

Its advantage grew even more midway through the third quarter when Dingwell tossed a two-yard touchdown pass Chad Young.

The Falcons scored their only touchdown of the game with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter on a five-yard run by Cobb.

Air Force lost despite holding advantages in total yards (393 to 268), first downs (24 to 15), and time of possession (33:53 to 26:07).
