Recap: Temple vs. Syracuse

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Big East charter member Syracuse concluded its 21-year conference tenure in grand style.

Adonis Ameen-Moore ran for two touchdowns, Prince-Tyson Gulley had a score on the ground and the Orange ran past Temple, 38-20, on Friday.

Jerome Smith recorded 96 yards rushing, Gulley added 83 yards and Ameen-Moore chipped in 57 of the 260 yards on the ground for Syracuse (7-5, 5-2 Big East), which won five of its last six regular-season contests.

The Orange began Big East play in 1991 and finished 76-75 in the league. They will join the ACC on July 1, 2013.

Ryan Nassib threw for 215 yards and a score on 16-of-28 efficiency in the win.

After running for 351 yards and seven scores against Army Saturday, Montel Harris tallied 106 yards rushing for the Owls (4-7, 2-5), who dropped four of their final five games of the campaign to conclude their first year as a Big East member since 2004.

Clinton Granger's 10-yard TD run midway through the third quarter gave Temple a 20-17 lead, but the Orange scored the final 21 points of the game.

Syracuse countered on its ensuing drive when Ameen-Moore knifed in from a yard out. Gulley's 3-yard TD plunge and Keon Lyn's 31-yard interception return for touchdown in the fourth concluded the scoring.

Earlier, Temple jumped out to a 10-0 advantage after a quarter of play as Brandon McManus booted through a 47-yard field goal and Granger hit John Christopher for a 12-yard score.

Nassib found Marcus Scales for a 24-yard touchdown before Ameen-Moore's 18- yard TD run on Syracuse's next touch gave it a 14-10 edge with 9:11 to go in the half.

McManus and Ross Krautman nailed field goals of 22 and 26 yards, respectively, and the Orange took a 17-13 margin into the locker room.
