Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - Tyler Tettleton completed 15-of-27 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ohio University Bobcats to a 37-34 victory in their first-ever meeting against the Massachusetts Minutemen at Gillette Stadium.

Ohio (5-0, 1-0 MAC) running back Beau Blankenship ran for a career-high 269 yards on 43 carries, resulting in two touchdowns as he delivered his fifth straight 100-yard effort to begin the campaign. Kicker Matt Weller made three field goals, which also spurred the Bobcats to the win.

Massachusetts (0-5, 0-2) quarterback Mike Wegzyn threw the ball for big gains as he completed 27-of-51 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns. Deion Walker was his favorite target as he caught 11 passes for 162 yards and one score. Alan Williams was Wegzyn's other favorite target and he reeled in seven passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns.

In the first quarter, Wegzyn completed a touchdown pass to Williams for 27 yards to put UMass up 7-0.

The Bobcats came right back with a 27-yard field goal by Weller to make the score 7-3.

The Minutemen took no time to score again as Blake Lucas kicked a 30-yard field goal to make the score 10-3.

On the ensuing possession, Weller knocked through a 24-yard field goal to keep the visitors within four at 10-6.

Tettleton took the Bobcats down the field and completed a one-yard touchdown pass to Troy Hill to put them up 13-10.

Wegzyn connected with Williams again, this time for a 50-yard touchdown pass, as UMass regained the lead once more at 17-13.

To conclude the first half, the Bobcats offense took the lead again when Tettleton completed a 41-yard touchdown pass to Chase Cochran to make the score 20-17, capping a seven-play, 75-yard drive that took less than two minutes.

Wegzyn completed a 26-yard touchdown pass to Walker to open up the second half and put the Minutemen up 24-20. Later in the frame Lucas kicked a 23-yard field goal to put them up 27-20.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Blankenship punched it in from five yards out to tie up the game at 27-27. Ohio took the lead when Weller hit a 26-yard field goal to put them up 30-27. Blankenship built on the advantage when he scored on a 40-yard touchdown run at the 6:13 mark of the final period.

The Minutemen responded when Wegzyn connected with Williams for a 11-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to 37-34. A late game rally was not enough for the Minutemen as they dropped their eighth straight game dating back to last season.

The Bobcats outgained the Minutemen on the ground almost two-to-one, 274-138.
