Recap: Tulsa vs. UCF

Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Alex Singleton's one-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 33-27 win over the UCF Knights in the Conference USA championship game at H.A. Chapman Stadium.

Singleton rushed for 100 yards and a pair of scores while Trey Watts picked up 134 yards on the ground for Tulsa (10-3, 8-1 C-USA) which won its second C-USA title. Cody Green threw for 153 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 14- of-25 passing. Thomas Roberson caught four passes for 68 yards and a score.

Blake Bortles completed 14-of-32 pass attempts for 194 yards and a score and added 60 yards and a touchdown on the ground for UCF (9-4, 7-2). The Knights were playing in their final game as a member of C-USA as they will move to the Big East next season. Breshad Perriman caught three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown and Latavius Murray had 71 yards and a score on 21 carries.

Tulsa opened up the scoring with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Green to Roberson early in the first quarter.

It would not be until the beginning of the second quarter that UCF would respond when Perriman caught an eight-yard touchdown pass from Bortles to cap off a 10-play, 73-yard drive.

UCF added another touchdown on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Bortles to Quincy McDuffie with a little less than five minutes remaining in the first half.

Singleton scored his first touchdown of the game on Tulsa's next posession on a seven-yard run to tie the game at 14-14.

Tulsa got the ball back with just over a minute left before the break and finished off an eight-play, 80-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run from Ja'Terian Douglas on the final play of the half.

UCF dominated in the third quarter with a two-yard touchdown run from Murray and a 28-yard touchdown run from Bortles. Shawn Moffitt's extra point attempt was blocked after Murray's touchdown and the Knights lead stood at 27-21.

Trey Watts brought Tulsa back to even with a 54-yard punt return with a little more than five minutes left in regulation. However Daniel Schwarz extra point was blocked and with neither team scoring the rest of the way, the game went to overtime.

UCF got the ball first in the extra session but the managed only four yards after which Moffitt's 38-yard field goal attempt was blocked.

Tulsa took the ball over and sparked by a 17-yard rush by Watts was able to punch it in for the game winner.

The Golden Hurricane had a 443-330 edge in total yards and converted on 12-of-22 attempts on third down.
