Recap: Georgia Tech vs. Georgia

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Todd Gurley rushed for three touchdowns including two in overtime as the Georgia Bulldogs came back to defeat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 41-34, in double-overtime to win the Governor's Cup Trophy at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Hutson Mason went 22-of-36 through the air for 299 yards and two touchdowns with an interception for Georgia (8-4). Gurley had 122 yards on 20 carries and four total touchdowns. Chris Conley had seven catches for 129 yards.

Vad Lee had 232 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-23 passing with two interceptions for the Yellow Jackets (7-5). David Sims ran the ball 21 times for 100 yards. Robert Godhigh had four receptions for 82 yards.

Georgia Tech started fast by scoring on its first drive of the game. Lee completed a 68-yard pass to Darren Waller to move the ball to the Bulldogs' 6-yard line. This led to a three-yard rushing touchdown for Lee.

Harrison Butker made a 37-yard field goal to put the Yellow Jackets up 10-0 at the 3:33 mark of the first frame. Lee then completed a 26-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Smelter with 1:52 left in the first period of play.

With 6:33 left before the intermission, Butker made a 22-yard field goal to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, 20-0.

Mason completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Gurley with 34 seconds before the intermission to get the Bulldogs on the scoreboard.

Georgia began to close the gap early in the second half. Marshall Morgan made a 40-yard field goal to conclude the Bulldogs' opening drive of the third quarter. Mason completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Michael Bennett with 2:26 left in the third period of play to make the score, 20-17.

Lee completed a seven-yard touchdown pass to Smelter to expand the lead to 10 with 10:34 remaining.

A two-yard Gurley rush would bring the game back within three. Morgan made a 32-yard field goal with 4:17 left to tie the game up at 27.

Lee scored on a two-yard touchdown rush on Georgia Tech's first possession of overtime.

Gurley answered back for the Bulldogs with a six-yard touchdown run to tie it in overtime at 34. Gurley had a 25-yard touchdown run to start the second overtime. This put Georgia up 41-34.

Georgia Tech failed to convert on fourth down in the second overtime as Lee threw an incomplete pass into the end zone.

Saturday's comeback was the largest deficit that the Bulldogs have overcome under Mark Richt.

Georgia Tech has now lost five straight games to Georgia.
