Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Quarterback Dak Prescott ran for two touchdowns, caught one and threw for another, as his Mississippi State Bulldogs demolished the Troy Trojans, 62-7, in a non-conference tilt at Davis Wade Stadium.

Prescott finished the contest completing 13-of-21 passes for 233 yards and an to go along with his scores, while adding 53 yards on five rushes for the Bulldogs (2-2). Jameon Lewis was the top receiver for the Bulldogs, with 96 yards and a touchdown on just two receptions. Lewis also ran and threw for scores. Derrick Milton ran for 56 yards and a score on seven carries while Josh Robinson chipped in 46 yards and a touchdown on six carries.

For the Trojans (2-2) Corey Robinson completed 15-of-25 for 105 yards and a touchdown and was picked off once. Brandon Burks was the team's leading rusher with 43 yards on eight carries.

After Troy received the opening kickoff, Robinson was picked off by Jamerson Love, who returned the ball 70 yards for a touchdown. On the next series, the Trojans were able to drive the ball deep into Bulldog territory, but on 3rd- and-Goal at the MSU 7, Deon Anthony fumbled the ball and Benardrick McKinney recovered it for the Bulldogs and returned it to the MSU 36. The Bulldogs moved the ball 56 yards all the way to the Troy 8-yard line but had to settle for a 25-yard field goal by Devon Bell to put them up 10-0 with just over three minutes to play in the first quarter.

The Trojans got on the board with a nine-play, 65 yard campaign, capped off by a Robinson pass to Eric Thomas for five yards and the score in the final seconds of the first to make the score 10-7. The big play on that drive was a Brandon Burks rush for 26 yards to the MSU 28.

The second quarter was all Bulldogs, as they outscored the Trojans 35-0 in the period. MSU started with a quick score, moving the ball 75 yards in just over a minute, topped off when Prescott threw a lateral to Lewis, who took off to run before throwing the ball back across the field to Prescott, who ran it 36 yards down the field for the score. After the Trojans turned it over on downs by attempting a fake punt on 4th-and-4 deep in their own territory, the Bulldogs took over at the Troy 22-yard line. Prescott ran it in for the score on the first play of the drive to put the Bulldogs up 24-7. After Troy punted, the Bulldogs took the ball 76 yards for another score, a Prescott 11-yard run, set up by a 46-yard pass from Prescott to Lewis. Another Trojan punt was followed by another Bulldog score, this one a Robinson run for 19 yards and a touchdown. Again Troy was forced to punt and it was again answered by a touchdown by MSU, with Prescott throwing a screen pass to Lewis who then ran 50 yards for the score with a minute remaining in the half, which put the home team up 45-7 going into intermission.

The Bulldogs put up the only points of the third quarter, with a 10-play, 75 yard drive that was finished by Lewis with an eight-yard touchdown run. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs tacked on two more scores. Evan Sobiesk knocked in a 24-yard field goal early in the period. MSU finished the scoring with a touchdown run by Milton for 10 yards with 4:47 to play.

The 62 points were the most MSU has scored in a game since 1994. The Bulldogs finished with 551 total yards. Prescott and Lewis each threw, ran and caught a touchdown. The Trojans were held to only 186 total yards, 47 rushing and 139 passing. The Bulldogs were 8-of-12 on third down conversions while they held the Trojans to just 3-of-13.
