Recap: Oregon State vs. Hawaii

Corvallis, OR (Sports Network) - Sean Mannion passed for 372 yards and four touchdowns as the Oregon State Beavers completed a 33-14 rout of the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors in a non-conference tilt at Reser Stadium.

Mannion completed 31-of-43 attempts and was intercepted only once while under center for Oregon State (1-1), which bounced back from a season opening loss to Eastern Washington of the FCS. Storm Woods rushed for 50 yards on 17 carries and also made seven catches for a team-best 95 yards. Brandin Crooks made seven receptions for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Richard Mullaney reeled in four passes for 68 yards and one score.

For Hawaii (0-2), Taylor Graham went 10-of-20 for 95 yards and a touchdown before being replaced by Sean Schroeder, who completed eight of his 12 attempts for 75 yards with one interception. Steven Lakalaka was held to only 39 yards on 13 carries for the Rainbow Warriors, who fell to USC in their season opener. Julian Gener anchored Hawaii's defense with 11 total stops, one sack, a forced fumble and an interception return for a touchdown.

After Hawaii's opening drive ended with a punt from its own 27-yard line, Oregon State struck quickly. The Beavers moved 15 yards forward thanks to a pass interference call before Mannion completed a 48-yard pass to Woods. He then found Kennen Clute for a three-yard touchdown pass to put the hosts ahead, 7-0, less than four minutes after kickoff.

OSU added to its lead early in the second quarter when Mannion threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Mullaney. Trevor Romaine's successful extra-point try made the score 14-0.

The Rainbow Warriors' defense gave the team some life as Gener intercepted Mannion and returned the pick 23-yard for six points. The defense then forced a three-and-out and Hawaii's offense went 65 yards on eight plays to set up a 15-yard touchdown pass from Graham to Clark Evans. Tyler Hadden's successful extra point conversion tied the score at 14 as the contest progressed into the intermission.

The Beavers jumped back in front after the break as Mannion completed an eight-yard touchdown pass to Cooks less than five minutes into the third quarter.

OSU began to create some distance on the scoreboard as Mannion found Crooks for six points again, this time on an eight-yard passing play at the 5:36 mark of the third stanza.

The Beavers added some insurance points in the fourth quarter. Trevor Romaine converted a 34-yard field goal before Devon Kell and Mana Rosa wrapped up Lakalaka in the Rainbow Warriors' end zone for a safety that marked the final score of the contest.

OSU amassed 508 yards of total offense in the contest despite averaging only 1.7 yards per carry. Hawaii finished with only 239 yards of total offense.
