Recap: Tulsa vs. TX-San Antonio

Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Triston Wade picked off a pair of passes, including one for a touchdown, to help lead the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners past the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 34-15, in a Conference USA tilt at Chapman Stadium.

The UTSA (4-5, 3-2 C-USA) offensive attack was led by David Glasco II, who rushed for 135 yards on 21 carries. Eric Soza completed 16-of-20 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 43 yards. Kam Jones caught four passes for 34 yards and turned his only carry into an 84-yard score.

For Tulsa (2-6, 1-3), Dan Evans threw for 159 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 12-of-22 passing, while Cody Greene (11-of-17, 46 yards, INT) also saw time under center. Trey Watts turned 15 carries into 109 yards, while Keevan Lucas caught five passes for a career-high 87 yards.

UTSA opened the scoring midway through the first quarter with Evans Okotcha grabbing a five-yard touchdown pass from Soza.

Three minutes later, the Roadrunners capitalized on a Tulsa punt-return fumble on its own goal line, which Nic Johnston recovered for another score.

It was a one-sided affair for UTSA in the second quarter as well. First, Sean Ianno made a 41-yard field goal, then with six minutes to play in the half, Jones ripped off an 84-yard touchdown run, extending the Roadrunners' lead to a convincing 24-0 at the break.

The third quarter was one plagued by three-and-outs and punting, with no scoring until the final minute when Tulsa grabbed its first points of the day, a nine-yard touchdown reception by Jordan James from Evans. It tacked on a two-point conversion on a pass from Evans to Thomas Roberson.

UTSA's opening drive of the final quarter set up a 31-yard field goal by Ianno, taking the Roadrunners out to a 27-8 lead.

The Golden Hurricane's hopes for a comeback were even further crushed on the next drive when an Evans interception resulted in an 82-yard touchdown return by Wade.

Tulsa added a garbage-time touchdown with under four minutes to play on a six- yard scoring strike from third-string quarterback Joseph Calcagni to Josh Atkinson.

UTSA captured a decisive victory despite converting just 3-of-12 third downs.
