It was all Texas in the first half. Anthony Fera connected on a 27-yard field goal attempt midway through the first quarter. The field goal finished off an 18-play drive.

The Longhorns didn't need as many plays to score a second time. On their next possession Ash threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Sanders on just the third snap of the drive.

Gray scored on a 21-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter, as the Longhorns' lead grew to 17-0.

Kansas State was able to keep the Longhorns within range before the break, as Hubert tallied a 15-yard touchdown run with just over a minute left in the second quarter.

The second half started off well for the Longhorns. On their first drive of the third quarter, Gray scored on a 15-yard touchdown run, to push the Longhorns to a 24-7 advantage.

Hubert scored for the second time in the game with a four-yard touchdown run early on in the fourth quarter.

Just over four minutes later the Longhorns found the end zone again when Malcolm Brown scored on a one-yard touchdown run.

After forcing a three and out, Texas had a chance to extend the lead but Fera missed a 45-yard field goal attempt.

On the ensuing drive, Kansas State cut the deficit to 10 points with a one-yard touchdown run from Waters. However, the Wildcats would get no closer.

Texas finished with 452 yards of total offense and converted on 9-of-18 third down attempts. Texas had four sacks in the game while Kansas State had just one. Both teams were guilty of eight penalties in the contest.
