Recap: Georgia State vs. Troy

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Paced by Corey Robinson's three passing touchdowns, including the game-winner late in the fourth quarter, the Troy Trojans outlasted the Georgia State Panthers, 35-28, in Sun Belt Conference action at the Georgia Dome.

Although Robinson completed just 21-of-37 passes and threw a pair of interceptions, he finished with 350 passing yards and had a game-winning fourth-quarter touchdown strike for the second straight week. Brandon Burks rushed for 113 yards for Troy (4-3, 1-1 Sun Belt), while Jordan Chunn had 91 yards on the ground and two scores. Both Chris Williams (152 yards, TD) and Eric Thomas (113 yards, TD) had big receiving days.

Georgia State (0-6, 0-1) was led by Ronnie Bell, who completed just 22-of-50 passes with an interception but had 370 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. Albert Wilson had a field day out wide with seven receptions for 153 yards and two scores. It was already Wilson's third game this season with at least 150 receiving yards.

Troy opened up the scoring midway through the first quarter when Robinson connected with Thomas on a 26-yard touchdown, but Georgia State quickly tied things up less than three minutes later when it capped off a nine-play, 75- yard drive with a seven-yard scoring strike from Bell to Kelton Hill.

The Trojans regained the advantage at the 10:52 mark of the second quarter following a four-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Bryan Holmes. The score capped off a six-play, 69-yard drive, which lasted only 1:22.

Georgia State opened up the second half with the ball and took full advantage, as Bell and Wilson hooked up for an eight-yard touchdown to tie the game up less than three minutes in to the third quarter.

The Panthers took their first lead of the game midway through the third quarter when Bell connected with Robert Davis on a 31-yard scoring strike, although Troy responded later in the frame when Chunn rushed in a touchdown from eight yards out.

Georgia State regained the advantage at the start of the fourth quarter after Bell and Wilson hooked on another touchdown pass, this time from 38 yards out.

The Trojans retaliated once again, as Chunn scored on a three-yard run with 9:14 left in the game to tie it up at 28-28.

Troy went ahead by seven with under four minutes remaining when Robinson connected on a 54-yard touchdown pass to Williams. The score came just two plays after the Trojans picked off Bell at their own 17-yard line.

Georgia State had one more possession to try and tie the game but it could not advance the ball past its own 26-yard line.

Troy's offense amassed 634 yards and converted 13-of-22 third-down attempts. Georgia State also had an impressive offensive afternoon with 422 yards, but it was only 5-of-16 on third down.

This marked Georgia State's first-ever Sun Belt Conference matchup since graduating from the ranks of the FCS following last season.
