Recap: Colorado State vs. Air Force

Fort Collins, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Garrett Grayson threw for three touchdowns as the Colorado State Rams handily defeated the Air Force Falcons, 58-13, in a Mountain West Conference tilt at Hughes Stadium.

Grayson had 395 yards and went 26-of-34 passing for the Rams (7-6, 5-3 Mountain West). Kapri Bibbs scored three times on the ground and had 79 yards on 16 carries. Rashard Higgins had seven catches and 127 yards with two touchdowns.

Nate Romine and Karson Roberts combined to go 11-of-20 for 125 yards for the Falcons (2-10, 0-8). Roberts also led the team in rushing with 38 yards and a touchdown on seven attempts. Jalen Robinette had 72 yards on five receptions.

Bibbs had a three-yard touchdown run with 10:58 left in the first quarter to put the Rams up 7-0. Bibbs added a one-yard touchdown rush about four minutes later to extend Colorado State's lead. The Rams went for a two-point conversion and failed, making the score 13-0.

Grayson connected on a 23-yard touchdown pass to Higgins with 12:52 left in the half. Then, with just under two minutes left in the second period, Grayson completed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Higgins to make it 27-0. As time expired in the half Jared Roberts connected on a 54-yard field goal for Colorado State.

Grayson scored from 22 yards out for a rushing touchdown to open up the third quarter scoring. Bibbs scored on a four-yard touchdown run following an Air Force Falcon and Grayson completed a 49-yard strike to Jordon Vaden for a touchdown with 2:50 remaining in the third period of play.

Chris Nwoke had an eight-yard touchdown run for the Rams with 9:34 left in the game.

Air Force finally scored with a 13-yard Colton Huntsman rushing touchdown with 5:02 before the final whistle. The two-point conversion failed, making the score 58-6. Then Roberts rushed 11 yards for a touchdown with 2:40 left.

Bibbs set a FBS record with seven games with three or more touchdowns in a season. He has 28 rushing touchdowns on the season and is the FBS leader in the category.

Air Force come into Saturday averaging 272.5 yards per game on the ground. They only managed to run for 154 against Colorado State.
