Recap: Florida vs. Idaho

Gainesville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Saturday's scheduled season opener between Idaho and Florida was postponed due to unsafe field conditions. No make-up date has been set.

The game was originally scheduled to begin at 7:02 p.m., but was delayed due to heavy rains and lightning strikes. At 9:50 the delay was lifted and Idaho kicked off to Florida, which got a 64-yard return from Valdez Showers.

However, another lightning strike caused another delay and less than an hour later the decision was made to cancel the contest.

Florida will begin its season next Saturday against Eastern Michigan. Idaho will also be in action next week against ULM.
