Recap: Arkansas vs. LSU

Fayetteville, AR ( - Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins each ran for a touchdown as Arkansas snapped its 17-game SEC losing streak with an emphatic 17-0 shutout of No. 20 LSU on Saturday.

Arkansas' last win against a conference opponent came in a 49-7 win over Kentucky on Oct. 13, 2012.

Brandon Allen threw for 169 yards on 16-of-27 passing, Williams rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries and Collins compiled 46 yards on 16 totes for the Razorbacks (5-5, 1-5 SEC), who also won the Battle for the Boot, a rivalry between the two teams for a gold boot, which is in the shape of Arkansas and Louisiana.

Anthony Jennings completed 12-of-22 passes for 87 yards and Terrance Magee ran for 24 yards on seven totes as the Tigers (7-4, 3-4) compiled just 123 yards of total offense.

LSU, which entered the game 25-1 when following a loss under head coach Les Miles, lost its second game in a row after dropping a 20-13 decision to Alabama in overtime. The Tigers were also without running back Kenny Hilliard, who suffered a shoulder injury against the Crimson Tide.

Adam McFain capped the Razorbacks' 60-yard opening drive with a 32-yard field goal.

Arkansas increased its lead to 10-0 with a lengthy 15-play, 60-yard drive that lasted 6:55. LSU committed a costly defensive pass interference penalty that moved Arkansas to its 5-yard line. After two runs, Williams dove into the end zone from a yard out with 8:40 remaining in the first half.

The Tigers answered back by putting together their best drive of the first half, but the 15-play, 55-yard trek was wasted after Colby Delahoussaye missed from 27 yards out and the Razorbacks took over at their own 20.

Arkansas limited LSU to just 49 yards of offense in the first half, the majority of which came on the Tigers' final drive.

After each team punted on its initial drive coming out of the break, Magee ran 12 yards and Rohan Gaines' personal foul for targeting the helmet of receiver DeSean Smith moved the Tigers down to their opponents' 24. Jennings was sacked for a loss of 10 yards on third down, and Delahoussaye missed again, this time from 47 yards.

The Razorbacks went up 17-0 four minutes into the final stanza with another lengthy scoring drive. The 12-play, 55-yard march, lasting 6:16, ended after Collins broke a tackle and stumbled into the end zone for a 5-yard score.

Jennings was sharp for LSU on the ensuing drive, completing five straight passes around his 13-yard dash. The Tigers worked the ball down to the 19-yard line before Martrell Spaight knocked the ball loose from Jennings and Darius Philon recovered it with just over eight minutes to play.
