Annapolis, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Keenan Reynolds rushed for 251 yards and three touchdowns as the Navy Midshipmen defeated the San Jose State Spartans, 41-31, in non-conference play at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

Reynolds attempted just seven passes, completing four against the Spartans' top-ranked pass defense, for the Midshipmen (4-4), who have won back-to- back games. Noah Copeland ran for 70 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

Joe Gray completed 33-of-46 pass attempts for 322 yards and three touchdowns for the Spartans (3-4), who failed to extend their winning streak to three games. Tim Crawley caught eight passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Tyler Ervin carried the ball 19 times for 72 yards and a score.

Austin Lopez opened the scoring toward the end of the first quarter, hitting a 22-yard field goal to put the Spartans ahead.

Navy started the second frame with a six-yard touchdown run by Copeland to go up 7-3.

Not long after, the Spartans moved ahead 10-7, as Gray completed a six-yard touchdown pass to Billy Freeman.

The teams trading blows, Reynolds found the end zone on an eight-yard keeper. The quarterback ran for another touchdown just a few minutes later, this a three-yard effort that put the Midshipmen up 21-10.

With just under three minutes remaining in the half, Gray connected with Crawley on a 33-yard touchdown pass, cutting it to 21-17.

Moments later, Austin Grebe added a 20-yard field goal for Navy, to give the team a 24-17 lead at the break.

Midway through the third quarter, Reynolds ran two yards for his third touchdown of the day, making it 31-17.

At the start of the fourth quarter, DeBrandon Sanders extended the Navy lead on an eight-yard touchdown run, capping a 12-play, 64-yard drive.

A few minutes later, Gray hooked up with Hansell Wilson for a five-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 38-24.

With three minutes left, Grebe tacked on a 33-yard field goal.

Ervin found the end zone for the Spartans, with just over a minute left in regulation, on an eight-yard touchdown run, but it was too little, too late.

Navy's run game netted 423 yards, compared to just 100 for the Spartans.
