Recap: North Texas vs. Fla Atlantic

Denton, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Andrew McNulty passed for 107 yards with a touchdown and an interception, and also ran in a score to lead the North Texas Mean Green to a 31-10 victory over the FAU Owls in a Conference USA clash at Apogee Stadium.

McNulty completed 12-of-16 passing in the contest, and carried the ball for 14 yards and a touchdown for North Texas (3-6, 1-4 C-USA), which ended a four- game losing streak. Antoinne Jimmerson carried the ball 17 times for 111 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Jaquez Johnson completed 14-of-25 passing for 99 yards, a touchdown and an interception for FAU (3-7, 2-4), which has lost three games in a row. Jeremy Gaskins carried the ball 10 times for 38 yards to lead the Owls in the loss.

Jimmerson got the scoring started in the contest with a 41-yard dash to the end zone with 6:25 to play in the first, giving the Mean Green a 7-0 advantage early.

FAU got on the scoreboard when Greg Joseph connected on a 41-yard field goal with 2:42 to play in the opening frame.

North Texas extended its lead when Marcus Smith hauled in a 20-yard touchdown pass from McNulty with 13:27 left to play in the half. The touchdown pushed the lead to 14-3.

McNulty extended North Texas' lead to 21-3 with a four-yard quarterback keeper that resulted in a score. The touchdown came with 6:06 left to play in the first half.

The Owls finally found the end zone when Johnson connected with Alex Deleon on a 34-yard scoring completion with 4:32 left to play in the third quarter. The score sliced North Texas' lead to 21-10.

Trevor Moore booted through an 18-yard field goal with 10:13 left in the game to increase North Texas' lead to 24-10.

Jarrod Lynn increased the lead for the Mean Green with a three-yard touchdown run. North Texas took a 31-10 advantage with 3:29 left to play in the game.

The Mean Green played solid defense against the Owls in the win, holding FAU to just 197 offensive yards and 12 first downs in the contest. The Owls managed just 95 rushing yards in the defeat.
