Boise, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Jay Ajayi rushed for 150 yards and scored three touchdowns as his Boise State Broncos had little trouble taking care of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, 34-9, in a non-conference clash at Albertsons Stadium Saturday.

The Broncos scored first when Ajayi took a handoff from two yards out to the end zone to give his squad the 7-0 advantage with 8:37 to play in the first quarter. He struck again just over two minutes later with another touchdown run of two yards, giving his team the 14-0 lead with 6:21 to play in the period.

Louisiana put some points on the board with 2:01 to play in the first quarter thanks to a 22-yard Hunter Stover field goal that capped a 12-play drive.

Ajayi ran in his third first-half score with 12:04 left to play in the second quarter, this time carrying in from 16 yards out. The Broncos took an early 21-3 lead over the Ragin' Cajuns following the five-play scoring drive.

Dan Goodale converted a 40-yard field goal attempt for the Broncos with 10:58 to play in the third quarter, and Devan Demas took his first handoff of the contest five yards for a touchdown with 6:39 to play in the period to give Boise State a commanding 31-3 lead.

For the first time since late in the first quarter, the Cajuns were able to put points on the board. McGuire punched in a seven-yard scoring run with 11:56 to play in the contest to cut Boise State's lead to 31-9 (Stover missed his extra-point attempt).

Goodale ended the scoring in the contest with a 33-yard field goal to give his Broncos the 34-9 edge with 1:27 remaining.

Boise State controlled the speed of the game, and possessed the ball for exactly eight more minutes than Louisiana in the win (34 minutes of possession for the Broncos to 26 for the Cajuns). The Broncos outgained the Ragin' Cajuns on the ground, 262-67, and scored four rushing touchdowns to Louisiana's one.
