Jonesboro, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Fredi Knighten ran for three touchdowns and threw for another as he guided the Arkansas State Red Wolves to a 28-14 victory over the ULM Warhawks in Sun Belt Conference play at Centennial Bank Stadium.

Knighten ran the ball 20 times and finished with a net of 71 yards, second to Michael Gordon who posted a game-high 168 yards on 15 attempts for the Red Wolves (3-2, 1-0 Sun Belt) as they won for the second time in as many games. Knighten also converted 21-of-36 passing for 284 yards, was sacked two times and had a pair of attempts picked off.

The Warhawks (3-2, 2-1) were paced by Brayle Brown and Pete Thomas who combined to hit on 26-of-46 for 278 yards and a pair of scores. Kenzee Jackson and Ajalen Holley both caught TD passes as the squad lost for the second time in the last three outings.

Following a scoreless first half, ASU scored back-to-back touchdowns as Knighten reached the end zone on a three-yard run and then found Tyler Trosin with a 12-yard TD pass to give the hosts a 14-0 lead entering the fourth.

Both side tallied two touchdowns in the final 15 minutes of action, beginning with Thomas hooking up with Holley for a 59-yard score to cut the deficit to seven. However, Knighten responded with TD runs of 29 and 12 yards to push the Red Wolves to a 28-7 advantage with 9:13 remaining in regulation.

Later in the frame Brown found Jackson on a 41-yard scoring pass play, but by then it was too little, too late.

Despite converting only 3-of-13 on third down, ASU rolled up 572 yards of total offense, compared to 348 for the Warhawks.
