Recap: Ga Southern vs. Troy

Statesboro, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kevin Ellison scored three rushing touchdowns and Georgia Southern crushed Troy, 42-10, on Thursday.

Ellison ran the ball 13 times for 99 yards and went 5-for-9 for 31 yards through the air for the Eagles (7-2, 6-0 Sun Belt), who have won six straight.

Khary Franklin had eight carries for 62 yards and a touchdown for the Trojans (1-8, 1-4), who have lost three straight.

Ellison had a pair of short rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to give Georgia Southern a 14-0 lead.

Ryan Kay's 25-yard field goal in the second got Troy on the board, but Alfred Ramsby ran the ball in from four yards out to make it a 21-3 game going into halftime.

Ellison's third score of the game came from two yards out just over four minutes into the third quarter for a 28-3 lead.

Ramsby and Favian Upshaw had touchdown runs of nine and 19 yards, respectively, in the fourth quarter, while Franklin punched the ball in from three yards out late in the game to account for the final score.
