Bethune-Cookman to open at Tennessee State

Daytona Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Bethune-Cookman has announced the majority of its 2013 football schedule, with a plan to fill Sept. 28 with a 12th game.

The defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champion Wildcats will open their season against Tennessee State on Sunday, Sept. 1 in the John Merritt Classic at LP Field in Nashville, Tenn.

The schedule also is highlighted by a Sept. 7 visit to Florida International.

Bethune's home games are against Virginia Union (Sept. 7), Savannah State (Oct. 19), South Carolina State (Oct. 26), Norfolk State (Nov. 9) and Hampton (Nov. 16).

"We have a big announcement coming with the open game we have right now on Sept. 28," athletic director Lynn W. Thompson said.
