Duquesne sets 11-game schedule in 2013

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Duquesne University's football program will kick off its season at home against Albany and play four other games at Rooney Field as part of an 11-game schedule announced Thursday.

The Dukes are coming off a 5-6 season and return 13 starters to coach Jerry Schmidt's squad.

Former Northeast Conference member Albany, which is joining the Colonial Athletic Association, will visit Duquesne for an Aug. 31 opener for both teams.

Duquesne also will host Division II West Liberty (Oct. 5) as well as NEC opponents Wagner (Oct. 12, Homecoming), Saint Francis (Nov. 2) and Central Connecticut State (Nov. 16).

The Dukes' visit to Youngstown State on Sept. 21 will be the first-ever meeting between the programs.
