Nacogdoches, TX (Sports Network) - Chris Truax was promoted to offensive coordinator as Stephen F. Austin football coach J.C. Harper reworked some of his staff on Monday.

Truax has served as the team's offensive line coach.

"I'm excited about Chris taking over as offensive coordinator," Harper said. "He has been with our program for eight years, and he has a great knowledge of our offense. He is well respected among our players, and I think he is going to do a great job."

Harper also hired coaching veteran Lance Guidry as an assistant coach, working with the Lumberjacks' secondary. Guidry, who coached in the Southland Conference at McNeese State during three different stints, including alongside Harper, was Western Kentucky's defensive coordinator this past season.

In addition, assistant head coach Arlington Nunn will move to the offensive side of the ball to coach the running backs, 2010 Walter Payton Award winner Jeremy Moses will work with the quarterbacks and Devin Ducote will join Guidry working with the defensive backs.
